A sweet friend sent me a link to a cookie recipe designed specifically for new moms, as it had extra nutritious ingredients to help support both mama & baby's nutritional needs. After making these cookies once, I decided they weren't just for moms (although I would love to hoard them) they are the perfect treat for anyone.

Tidy Joes
"When you're on the go, eat a tidy joe"
my sweet husband's slogan for this favorite meal
When I posted this teaser pic in May, I never thought it would take me until the end of June to post the recipe! Life with small children has a way of altering our time-lines & adjusting our priorities. :) And that is how it should be. So while I feel like I should apologize for not posting at all this month, instead I will just say that my girls & I have had fun together, both in the kitchen and out. I did take pictures of some of our meals, and I will post them as I have a chance. Now back to our recipe. :)Saturday, May 28, 2011
Mom's Brownies My Way
Growing up, brownies were one of my family's favorite desserts. Not just any brownies, but as the recipe declared, "Mom's Best Brownies". Easy, fast, more yummy than any box mix; it was my dad who often mixed up this one bowl recipe. He liked to change things around, adding extras such as peanut butter, chocolate or butterscotch chips. Now I'm the one changing things around - replacing refined ingredients with those I prefer to use in my kitchen.

Oatmeal Pancakes
Today we used it to make pancakes - moist, tender, flavorful pancakes.

Overnight Oatmeal
There are few things better than waking up to a hot breakfast. As a mom of little children, I don't anticipate being served a quality breakfast in bed any time soon. :P But with a little planning, I can still have breakfast within minutes and with minimal effort the night before.
I use my mini crockpot - it's a little dipper that was included free with a standard size crockpot. I never thought I'd have a use for it, as it is small (1 quart) and only operates on low. Right now, it is just the right size for my three girls & I to have oatmeal.
Teaser post...
Just wanted to post a quick teaser pic to let you know another recipe is in the works...
Check back this weekend!

Cheesy Vegetable Soup
First post on my first blog, and it's a recipe that isn't even a set recipe. I'm starting off good, no? This soup is a new favorite at our house - I've made several variations of it, and my family always compliments it. My littlest is especially a fan of this creamy soup.
